Whilst I value and respect the indigenous styles and traditions of Sri Lanka, I'm not confined to these concepts alone by any means. I always prefer to follow a unique style which has a blend of Sri Lankan tradition and modernism.
I do not believe in creating an Architectural form by function alone. It should be formulated with artistic expression, innovation and taking the social needs in to account within the boundaries of functional requirements. The creation becomes a true masterpiece when all these elements are addressed and presented in absolute harmony to its surrounding environment.
It is my firm opinion that space, light, sound, wind and other non-physical elements (as applicable) play a key role in making any form of design, practical, successful and beautiful. Hence they always become major considerations in my design spaces.
In Architecture every design element has to be treated with utmost care so as to make the whole picture coherent. I never focus only on designing the space, but on every connected element/component from the inception of the project. Most importantly, I give due diligence to my client's expectations, aspirations, life style and align my vision accordingly, resulting in the client's dream becoming a reality through the end creation.
